| Swimming - Hunting Hills CC
The Hunting Hills heated swimming pool is 50 meters with 8 lanes and includes a new diving board with a diving basin of 14’. An environmental friendly saline-chlorine system is easier on the eyes, skin and bathing suits.
An adjoining wading pool is in place for the safety and pleasure of little swimmers. Spacious covered pavilion, patio, and lawn areas create a recreational atmosphere conducive to fun and relaxation. Freshly-prepared foods from our Pool Snack Bar are served by our eager and courteous staff.
Professional Life Guards are always on duty and swimming lessons are routinely offered. If your child has a caregiver who will accompany them to the pool at times, ask about our Nanny Pass!

There is no activity with which Hunting Hills has enjoyed greater success than its summer swim team. The Hunting Hills Swim Team is renowned for winning! In 2009, the Hunting Hills swim team, also known as the "Houndogs" captured its eighth consecutive Roanoke Valley Aquatic Association championship. With a team of over 150 swimmers, it’s little wonder Hunting Hills captures so many titles and trophies.
Hunting Hills also has a distinguished staff that includes director of swimming Sheri Vaughn and head coach Andy Huray. Sheri is the head coach at Hidden Valley High School, which is bidding for its third consecutive state championship, and Sheri and Andy have both been named Timesland coaches of the year in the Roanoke Times circulation area. Andy is the head coach at Cave Spring High School. Sheri also holds two or three practice sessions a week for adult swimmers, who are allowed to swim for points in an arrangement that may be unique to the RVAA.
Swim team activities begin with an April ice-cream social, followed by four Sunday indoor tuneups. New members are welcomed with open arms! For more information contact Doug Doughty at doughtysports@aol.com or call the pool at 774-4030 from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
